So we finally created a blog. We actually are pretty excited to be able to share more about Lucy's progress, which seems to be going at a rapid rate these days. We've been very busy here.
Mike has been busy looking for a job, which is a frustrating process. Hard to stay hopeful. He also has been busy working on replacing the boards and steps on our front porch. It was in need of some major help and he managed to make it look dramatically different and more appealing. It now is a caramel color. He also has been very busy taking care of Lucy...it certainly has become more challenging lately. A new workout program of sorts. He has been just fabulous with her and Lucy absoluely adores her daddy.
Speaking of Lucy, she is getting into everything in sight. Almost 11 months. She is so busy, in fact, that she hasn't been wanting to nap more than 40-60 minutes per day total. She manages to be in positive spirits despite not napping though. She also is chatting up a storm but that is nothing new. Her words and sounds are changing though. She definitely is understanding more and more. We got Lucy a small pool to play in outside. At first she did not like it but quickly warmed up to the idea and enjoyed playing and crawling out of it. It has been very warm here. About 95 degrees today. Lucy also has enjoyed going out and about and flirting with people.
Managing home and work, along with everything else, has proved to be a challenge for Abby. It has been very busy at work so the days are flying by, which has pro's and con's. She has started a new therapy group, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a psychologist she works with. This has been a big undertaking and very exciting. Right now the county budget is up in the air, creating some anxiety but there's lots of reassurance that employees will be okay. She has been enjoying having Wednesday afternoons off to spend with Lucy. This time is precious.
This weekend Mike is going to a wedding and Lucy and Abby are headed off to a graduation party. So it will be busy. We haven't got too much boat time yet. We also are planning on having Mike's boys, Dylan and Trevor, down for five days over the 4th of July. That will be a nice time to spend together. Hope you all are well. We will try to put regular updates and pictures on here.
