Busy Weekend, Busy Week Ahead

Lucy with Grandma Sue at the graduation party. Katie and Emma are here too.
Lucy with Easton--fellow Nuk lovers.

Enjoying the day and getting into everything.

Up the stairs in the laundry basket. She loves this! It is functional.

We were very busy here this weekend. Mike went to a friend's wedding and enjoyed seeing and catching up with lots of friends. Abby and Lucy went to Abby's cousin's son's graduation party and also enjoyed seeing family and hanging out. Being in larger groups seems to be appealing to Lucy and this was no exception. She even managed to take a nap on the way there and back in the car-this is not the usual for her and it was nice. Saturday night Abby's sister, Lindsay, and her two boys, Devon and Easton, stayed the night. It is fun to watch the cousins together. They seem to entertain each other. Easton is almost exactly a year older than Lucy. Devon recently turned 4. We wish we got to spend more time with them so were glad to have them. Grandpa Darnell also came to visit early Saturday. Lucy enjoyed his company. He and Cheri celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary.

Today was an absolutley beautiful day weather wise-although a pretty windy. Nice to have dry air as it's been very humid. We were able to turn off the air and open up the windows to get some fresh air. Abby's mom had a birthday today and we were able to spend some time with her to celebrate this milestone-the one before next year's "big one".

Lucy continues to be on the move and has really been changing quickly. She is pulling herself up and wanting to climb on everything. The other day Mike went to get her up from a nap and she was standing there. When he picked her up, she clapped for herself. She climbed up the stairs for the first time this week. Mike was ahead of her and Abby was behind her. She seemed to be proud of her accomplishment. We were proud too and also a little frightened of what lies ahead. The baby gates have officially been put in place. She also took her first bath in the big tub-she had still been in her little tub, in the "deep" end. She adapted well and stood up in there too. Bathtime has got to be really challenging. She has been taking in a lot of food too. The other day she ate a turkey dog, 1/2 an english muffin, bunch of cantelope, watermelon and grapes, some hard boiled egg, and a few other things...for dinner. Whew!! She must be burning a lot of calories cruising around. She also has been biting which we are not liking so much. Maybe she's teething?

On Wednesay, Dylan and Trevor are coming for a visit and we are excited for that. They will be here until July 7. Mike is taking them to a Twins game on July 4. There are a few other things they want to do so we hope to fit them in. Abby will be taking some vacation to spend more time with them.

Take good care and we will check in again soon.
